[Tom Lorentz] Tom Lorentz: is a music educator, who's influence is still felt day throughout the local music scene. At the age of 5, Tom got his first introduction into the entertainment business as a weekend feature with his guitar teacher's band. As Beatlemania began sweeping the world in 1964, Tom was already performing at area CYO and High school dances. In 1966, Tom and four other musicians formed the first folk mass for the Diocese of Buffalo at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Lancaster. The other four members all went on to become priests.
By 1970, Tom and his band were performing 3 to 5 nights a week at the local nightspots such as The Tack Room, The Three Coins, The Executive, Pillow Talk, G. Willikers, the Sunset Bay Beach Club, the Sheraton Hotel, and Poet's Lounge.
Tom attended the University of Buffalo, and graduated with a Masters Degree in Music. He continues his love for writing music, teaching, performing and being a mentor to some of our area's finest performers.
Being a member of the bands Subconscious Mind, Headin' On, to the legendary Beatles tribute Band Switch, Tom treasures his musical roots and equally enjoys his opportunities when called to be an opening act for some of the countries biggest entertainers. Tom has opened for America, Rodney Dangerfield, Donny and Marie Osmond, Lee Greenwood, Barbra Mandrell and more.
Tom started a company that converts van for the physically challenged called Main Mobility and is very active in local community projects.
