Shawn D. McQuiller (AKA ShawnyMac) was born in the city of Lackawanna, New York. He was introduced to music at a very early age. When he told his parents about his desire to play guitar, before he knew it they had  placed one on his bed. From the age of ten Shawn began playing and gaining interest from his local community. Later in life he began performing in local groups such as the “Pleasure Secrets”, “UST Topaz” (Van Taylor) and “Traffic Jam”. He traveled internationally with “Traffic Jam” for many years that helped bring him to asurprising new level in the entertainment business. While performing at a prestigious club resort in Singapore, he gained the attention of the world renown and Grammy award-winning group, Kool & The Gang. For twenty years he has been the front man and guitar player for the group state-wide and internationally as well as appearing on many different television shows including “Rachael Ray”, “Anderson Cooper”, “the Rosie O’Donnell Show”, “NASCAR Indy 500”,“Dancing with the Stars”, “QVC”, “Entertainment Tonight”, “2010 Orange Bowl halftime show”, “2003 NBA All-Star game”, “US Congress 4th of July Celebration on Capitol Hill”, “The View”, and the “Jay Leno Show”.
 
His exciting career landed him on a tour with Van Halen; an experience that he humbly cherishes. While his career has been flourishing, he has continued to be a loving father, husband, son and brother, all the while remaining humble to his blessings. He has offered himself to charities such as “The Miracle Children’s Network” and many other organizations that fight for a greater cause. He often gives a lot of his time to children in the community and to children he meets in his travels, inspiring them to believe in their dreams. Not only is he a testament that dreams do come true, but to always remain true to whom you are when they do.
