Leonard "Lenny" Silver was the owner and founder of Record Theatre, one of the country’s longest running independent record stores. The first Record Theatre opened in 1976 at the corner of Main and Lafayette streets in Buffalo. Other stores followed soon after.

Silver had earlier formed Amherst Records in the late 1970’s/ Amherst Records has a variety of releases including Spyro Gyra, Glenn Medeiros, Doc Severensen and The Tonight Show Band, Jackie DeShannon, David LaFlame, Solomon Burke, and more.

​Mr. Silver died peacefully on March 10, 2017.  He had 90 very full years and enjoyed being involved in every aspect of the music business.  He has left an indelible mark on all of our lives.
