BMHOF Class of 1992
Being a musician is the only occupation Guy Nichols has ever known. One of Guy's ideas was to form a band that would stay together and play together through good times, tough times and lean times. Having accomplished this since 1974 with The Trolls, Guy feels it has had a great impact on his bass playing career. Gigging an average of four nights a week, for almost the last 20 years, it has allowed him to fine tune and diversify his style of playing. With bass being the rock in Rock and Roll, he feels playing in the pocket and on the edge makes his instrument the foundation of a band. Straight ahead bass playing, no gimmicks or flash, strong stage presence, upper range vocals and harmonies, Guy feels he has a, package that could take him to possible national success. In 1989 Guy took a four month leave from The Trolls to work as a bass technician for Winger. This offered him the opportunity to tour across the US and Japan, taught him a lot about the industry and opened his eyes to the big time. Having recorded with both the Trolls and Lost Angels, Guy hopes to continue his musical career and keep making his audience smile for quite some time to come.
